Greetings from the INDEPTH Secretariat. We hope you have had a good week.

We have the following items for your attention:

1. Nouna hosts big scientific meeting

The Nouna Health Research Centre (CRSN); an INDEPTH member is hosting scientists from the country and abroad in one of the largest gathering of researchers in Burkina Faso.

The meeting which is the 3rd Scientific Days of Nouna Health Research Centre kicked off on 30 July 2015 and was opened by the Minister of Health, Dr Amede Prosper Guiguemde. Other dignitaries included the Minister for Research and Innovation, Prof Jean Noel Poda.

The theme of the three-day meeting is 'Research for health: Strategies for better implication of policy makers in the financing of research and utilisation of research results’.

The Director of the CRSN, Dr Ali Sie, said issues to be covered during the meeting include: Strategies for better appropriation and utilisation of research results towards improving community health care provision; health research financing for equitable health care access in Africa and research for development.

2. ISC/AGM 2015 Registration

 All sites/centres that have not registered for the ISC 2015 are encouraged to do so.

The ISC will take place from 11 - 13, November 2015 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Arrival: 10 November 2015, Departure : 14 November 2015
Annual General Meeting: 14 November 2015 for Centre Leaders (Departure : 15 November 2015)

3 #PAA2016 - Call for Papers now available

 

The Call for Papers is available now for the 2016 PAA Annual Meeting (#PAA2016).  #PAA2016 will be held March 31 - April 2 in Washington, DC.  You can find the Call for Papers and other information on the PAA Website.

As you may remember from PAA Affairs' Summer 2015 issue (pg. 3), PAA will be using a new conference submission software called Confex.  Confex will accept submissions online beginning August 17, 2015, at www.populationassociation.org/2016program.
The deadline for submissions is September 25, 2015.

The PAA Board of Directors encourages broad participation in the Annual Meeting. If you would like to serve as a session Chair or Discussant at the 2016 Annual Meeting, please indicate your interest by sending an email to paa2016@popassoc.org.

To appear on the programme, participants must register for the meeting. Registration information will be available later this fall.  Additional information about exhibits, book displays, and travel awards will also be available in the near future.
Please check the PAA website throughout the year for updated meeting information.
