Friday Newsletter from the Secretariat - 12 September 2014
Dear Centre Leaders,
Greetings from the INDEPTH Secretariat. We hope you have had a good week.

We have three items for your attention this week:

1. Update from the Gates Foundation - SEED Concept Memo Responses
The Executive Director received on Wednesday the below update from the Gates Foundation which we would like to share with you.

From: SEED RFP <SEEDRFP@gatesfoundation.org>
Subject: Gates Foundation SEED Concept Memo Responses
Date: September 10, 2014 10:32:20 PM GMT
To: SEED RFP <SEEDRFP@gatesfoundation.org>Dear All,

Thank you for your hard work in preparing a response to the call for concepts in the first phase of our process to identify a long term implementing partner for our Sentinel Epidemiology and Etiology Data (SEED) initiative which is part of a foundation infectious diseases surveillance strategy. In this phase, we received 23 responses from organizations around the world.

We received many exceptional responses and are still in the process of reviewing them. We hope to complete this process shortly and will follow up with you as soon as we can. Although we will be selecting only two final candidates for full proposals for the lead partner, we are anticipating that many of you will play a role in some capacity.

Thank you again for your enthusiasm for this initiative and for the work you put into responding.

Sincerely,
-The SEED RFP Team
