We have f fixe items for your attention this week:
1. INDEPTH Skills Experience Sharing workshop for Administrators
This workshop will take place from November 26 -28, 2014 in Kenya.
The workshop is to among others bring together Administrators to share experiences and discuss issues related to the provision of administrative activities to facilitate the work of HDSS sites in low- and middle- income countries.
Deadline for the nomination of participants to the Secretariat is November 11, 2014.

2. INDEPTH Resident Research Fellows (IRRF) Competition 2014 - 2015
As part of efforts to train and strengthen the research capacities of the next generation of young scientists from its member centres, the INDEPTH Network is introducing a new concept tentatively known as the INDEPTH Resident Research Fellows (IRRF) Competition for Young Scientists.
The main idea is to host at least one carefully selected INDEPTH young scientist every year at the INDEPTH Secretariat for an intensive research period of one month where they can devote time to work on and complete a multi-centre paper for which s/he is first author.

4. Humboldt young climate & health research grants
(The Humboldt Foundation Call for applications for International Climate Protection Fellowships)!
The Humboldt Foundation is inviting applications for International Climate Protection Fellowships to promote prospective leaders from transition and developing countries. Applications may be submitted from now until 15 March 2015.
This is a highly competitive fellowship with up to 20 young climate experts from non-European transition or developing countries (who already have initial professional and leadership experience in this field) expected to be funded in the next round.
Together with a host, they will work in Germany for a year on a research-based project of their own choice in the field of climate protection. The fellowships, which are funded under the International Climate Protection Initiative by the Federal Environment Ministry, will begin on 1 March 2016. For details check the link below:

We are also pleased to announce to any interested person from INDEPTH member centres that Professor Rainer Sauerborn would be prepared to be the German host for this fellowship if we have any suitable person from INDEPTH applying.
