The randomized control trials in MCTA sites will provide body of knowledge on the side effects of drugs/vaccines. Currently, MCTA sites are conducting Phase II and III vaccine trials and the proposed Phase IV Safety and Effectiveness Studies platform will create the capacity within sites that is needed for monitoring MCTA vaccine trial projects. MCTA structures such as its links with the media will assist the Phase IV Safety and Effectiveness Studies by providing the needed environment to communicate and disseminate information within country and at international levels.
