With a population size of 22,000, the Kyamulibwa HDSS is located at the Kalungu district (formerly Masaka district), Central Region, Uganda. It was established in 1989 to describe the dynamics of the HIV epidemic, specifically HIV incidence and prevalence trends; and to obtain the determinants of HIV infection in a Ugandan general rural population. Leading the centre is Leading the centre is Dr. Anatoli Kamali and Dr. Robert Newton the HDSS Leader.
