INDEPTH ED presents CHESS at Wellcome Trust meeting
The INDEPTH Executive Director Prof. Osman Sankoh, made a presentation on "INDEPTH: Upgrading HDSS to CHESS” on behalf of the Network.
This was during the 1-2 October 2015 researchers' meeting at Wellcome Trust's Genome Campus in Hinxton, Cambridge, UK, where beneficiaries of the Trust’s funding presented their work and benefitted from colleagues' contributions.

Five more INDEPTH HDSSs to use OpenHDS as Data Management platform
Five more HDSSs in Ethiopia have joined four other INDEPTH Centres on the OpenHDS for data capture and management.
This was after a ten-day training programme held from 5 – 15 October 2015.
The training programme was a follow-up on the exposition of the OpenHDS, an INDEPTH Management Programme in November, last year.
The success stories of the other centres that are currently using OpenHDS contributed to this decision.

Ghana Health Service holds stakeholders meeting on implementation research
INDEPTH Executive Director, Prof. Osman Sankoh, and Policy Engagement and Communications Manager, David Mbulumi, were among stakeholders who attended a High Level National Stakeholders' meeting on Implementation Research and the National Health Research Agenda.
The meeting which was held in Accra on 13 October 2015 was organised by Research and Development Division (RDD) of Ghana Health Service.

Editor of leading Ghanaian newspaper welcomes INDEPTH
The Policy Engagement and Communication Manager of the INDEPTH Network, Mr. David Mbulumi on 29 October 2015 paid a courtesy call on the Editor of The Ghanaian Times, Mr. Dave Agbenu.
The Ghanaian Times is one of the two top daily newspapers in Ghana.
Welcoming Mr. Mbulumi, Mr. Agbenu recalled the newspaper has given coverage to some INDEPTH activities in the past and gave the assurance that "the doors of the corporation are always open and we will continue ... Read more..

AGM elects new Board members as ISC 2015 ends
The INDEPTH Annual General Meeting was held on 14 November 2015, a day after the last session of the 2015 INDEPTH Scientific Conference (ISC 2015). Members received and approved the Executive Director’s State of the Network address 2015 and the audited accounts of the financial years ended December 2013 and 2014.
Thirty seven INDEPTH member centre leaders were represented.

INDEPTH Secretariat holds staff retreat
The INDEPTH Secretariat held its annual staff retreat from 8 – 9 December 2015 at the Miklin Hotel in Accra.
The retreat was to review the activities of all the sections of the Secretariat for 2015 as well as finalise their work plans for 2016.
All Managers: General Administration, Finance, General Projects and ICT, Grants Management, Capacity Strengthening and Training, Science and Policy Engagement and Communications made presentations on behalf of their sections.

Statistics guru Hans Rosling visits INDEPTH
Prof. Hans Rosling, a Swedish statistics guru, an international public speaker and Founder of the reputable Gapminder Foundation, visited the INDEPTH Network in Accra on Friday 11 December 2015.
Hans has very close relationship with Bill Gates and has appeared several times campaigning with Bill Gates on global issues.
Gates has cited a Rosling presentation about the effectiveness of healthcare projects in the developing world as one of the main reasons behind his decision to donate billions of dollars to the issue.
