The Health Metrics Network encourages Health Information Systems to take a more coherent view across data platforms and sources. Household based survey and surveillance data as produced by DSS sites need to be integral parts of the local Health Information System.

DSS sites should make special efforts to feed into the HIS. See Influencing Policy and Practice for examples.
