Purpose of the Resource Kit

The INDEPTH Resource Kit for Demographic Surveillance Systems is intended for use by two audiences: those about to start a new site; and those who have already established a functioning site and have completed the core baseline round.

Sections 2 and 3 are for those starting new sites, i.e. all those who have decided to implement DSS from scratch, and have already secured their startup funding, but still need practical guidance in getting started. These two sections cover all aspects of the set up of the site and take the site through to the end of the first census or core baseline survey round.

Sections 4 to 5 are for established sites that have completed the core baseline round, and who need to establish update routines, or other longer established sites who may want to add additional special modules to their core data.

Section 6 is a reference section for all sites that collects all the resource documents of the Resource Kit in an organized fashion in a single access point.
