The data and the field teams should work together to pilot the data system. Testing of the data entry screens and software program should be done using the pilot test questionnaires completed by the enumerators. This will bring out any errors in the data entry program and can also be used to test the validation and consistency checks. In order to catch as many errors as possible, the data entry staff should try to enter all field pilot questionnaires. This will also serve as a practice session for them.
