Migration is the movement of people across a specified boundary for the purpose of establishing a
new or semi-permanent residence. External migration is where residence changes between a
residential unit in the DSA and one outside it, and internal migration is where residence changes
from one residential unit to another in the same DSA.
Movement from one household to another household within the same compound, home or
homestead is
internal movement. It is not classified as internal migration and it is treated
separately from internal migration.
