Alex Karabarinde

Alex Karabarinde Is a Survey Coordinator for the Kyamulibwa HDSS in Uganda, under the Medical Research Council-Uganda He holds a Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Community Health. He has had trainings and clinical attachments in Ear,Nose and Throat(ENT) care, Eye care, HIV counselling in addition to Leadership courses in Nairobi, Kenya. He has attended courses in scientific writing and Good Clinical Practice(GCP). In 1997 he worked as a Clinical officer in Virika Hospital and Rwimi Health Centre. He joined the Medical Research Council(MRC) in 1998 to coordinate a study on Visual Impairment in the HDSS funded by the MRC and Sight Savers International. He became field team superviser in charge of data collection,logistics and training of project staff. In 2009 he became the Survey Coordinator for the DSS. He has published 11 scientific research papers in HIV epidemiology, Ophthalmology and Non Communicable Diseases in several scientific journals.
