According to Anne, the master’s course, especially the project has increased her capacity and experience in longitudinal data analysis and epidemiological reasoning in interpreting health data.

“This will further assist me in responding to key public health challenges in Kenya especially in the health research projects that I am involved in” she says.

“I would like to put to use the recently acquired analytical and epidemiology skills in large-scale longitudinal databases to maximise the value of the data and provide useful information for policies and decision-making” she added.

Anne has interest in child health research including adolescents/young adults.

Anne would like to thank Professor Marie-Louise Newell and Dr Edmore Marinda, her supervisors, for their great insights especially with the project work at the Africa Centre for Health and Population Studies in South Africa. “I am greatly indebted to the INDEPTH Network for funding my studies and stay in South Africa.

Special recognition also goes to the Africa Centre staff and the Kenyan community in South Africa for making the entire study time a worthwhile experience.

I would also like to appreciate Professors Anthony Scott, Tom Williams and Ms. Tahreni Bwanaali my Supervisors at Kilifi HDSS for facilitating my time away to study,” she said.
