Dr. John Ele-Ojo Ataguba
Dr. John Ele-Ojo Ataguba is a Commonwealth scholar and an elected member of the South African Young Academy of Science (SAYAS). He is currently a senior lecturer at the Health Economics Unit, University of Cape Town (UCT). John has research experience in many African countries. His major research interests include poverty, inequality, equity in health and health care, social determinants of health, and health financing. John holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Cape Town. He is the recipient of several competitive awards including the Claude Leon Merit Award for Young Lecturers. Currently, he serves as an editorial board member for the journal Applied Health Economics and Health Policy, and BMC Health Services Research. John has published widely in his areas of interest.
