Dear Centre Leader, Colleague and Friend,

This year’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) is a few months away. As we prepare for the big event, we would like to know a few things about your centre’s participation as well as what you would like to see happen in Dubai. Attendance at INDEPTH AGMs is obligatory and helps you maintain the full membership in INDEPTH.

Please be reminded that you will cover your costs to the AGM (flight, accommodation, per diem - dinner and incidentals).

The INDEPTH resource centre will cover your conference package (coffee/tea breaks, lunch, conference room, airport pickups and social events).

In order to secure hotel accommodation, we must book and pay in advance. Hence we need to get your confirmation of participation early enough, otherwise we may incur unnecessary costs.

Centre leaders will discuss issues related to data, contribution to multicentre project development, publications, policy engagement and capacity strengthening. Which other issues would you like us to include in the AGM agenda?

This year’s meeting of Centre Leaders will continue the discussion started at the Kampala AGM 2016 on how to ensure the Network’s sustainability as funding for core activities of the Network is getting drier. The Board will present its new vision for the Accra office and how costs must generally be reduced.

If your centre works on NCDs, have you recently published a paper that you would like to present? If YES, please provide details of the paper (papers accepted for publication can also be mentioned)

As AGM 2017 will be held in Dubai, we have decided to engage our UAE colleagues to see how we can forge a partnership between UAE and INDEPTH. Through INDEPTH’s collaboration with Harvard Medical University in the US which has a campus in Dubai where the AGM 2017 will be hosted, we are able to have access to a good number of UAE colleagues to attend the AGM. We had identified the subject of NON-COMMUNICABLE DISEASES (NCDs) as one that would interest our UAE colleagues.
