During the course, Le Quyen says she had invaluable opportunities to learn from the international experts in the field of Public Health as well as interact with other students from different countries with diverse educational background.

The five months of fieldwork attachment also helped her to translate what she learnt from the course into practice under academic supervision.

“The course definitely helped me to shape my career in Public Health” she said.

Currently, Le Quyen leads the technical team of IHM-Lesotho to provide the Ministry of Health with technical assistance in strategic information.

The activities cover three overarching areas of strategic Information: Health Information Systems, Monitoring and Evaluation and Surveys and Surveillance. The technical assistance aims to support Ministry of Health to improve data quality, facilitate data dissemination and use of health programmes to provide the opportunity for evidence-based decision-making, better programmes, improved service quality and ultimately better health outcomes.
