Mr. Beck is demographer-statistician in the Institut de Recherche pour le Développement (2015-present). His work consists of improving data quality, prepare and analyze data of the Senegalese DSS (Niakhar mostly, Mlomp and Bandafassi). He has an MSc. in Demography from the University of Strasbourg (awarded in July 2015). He completed his diploma with an internship in Canada (Observatoire Démographique et Statistique de l’Espace Francophone, Quebec city) where he studied languages transmission in French overseas territories. In 2013, he graduated from the University of Strasbourg (specialization in Sociology). In 2012, he spent a year in Laval University (Quebec, Canada). Baptiste has a strong interest in demography but also in informatics and statistics. In September 2016, he will start a PhD with Richard Marcoux (Laval University) on the topic of premarital fecondity.
