Bai Lamin Dondeh
Bai Lamin began his professional career with Biffa Waste Services, a waste management company based in the UK. At Biffa Waste Services, he served as a Systems Project Manager for 2 years managing the introduction of a new database system at the company's sites across various cities in the UK. Upon his return to The Gambia in 2009, Bai Lamin worked as a Project & Systems Manager leading the design and development of The Gambia's and the region's first National Biometric Identification System. Bai Lamin received both his BSc in Software Engineering and MSc in Strategic IT Management from the University Of Wolverhampton, United Kingdom. A native of Gambia, Bai Lamin attended Gambia Senior Secondary School where he attained his high school certificate in Science. Currently, he serves as the Head of Data Management at the renowned Medical Research Council (MRC) Unit The Gambia where he oversees a team of 70 data management staff across 3 sites. He developed the first customized Biobank Sample Management and contributed significantly to the first Electronic Medical Records Systems at the MRC. Together with the Unit Demographer, the Farafenni HDSS data collection has now successfully moved from paper to electronic data capture.
