Prof. Rossier is a reproductive health specialist; she alternates quantitative and qualitative approaches to study induced abortion, contraception, and fertility decisions in Europe and Africa. Trained in quantitative Social Sciences in Lausanne and Paris IV, she obtained a PhD in Demography at the University of California, Berkeley in 2002, and was hired at the Institut National deEtudes Demographiques (INED) in Paris. From 2008 to 2013 she implemented with the University of Ouagadougou a HDSS at the periphery of the capital of Burkina Faso. In 2013, she received a professorship from the Swiss National Science Foundation to study obstacles to the fertility decline and contraceptive uptake in Sub-Saharan Africa at the University of Geneva. She collaborates with the Unit of Research in Reproductive Health at the World Health Organization
