Prof Pascale Allotey, of INDEPTH Associate member centre in Malaysia appointed Director of the United Nations University Institute for Global Health  

Prof Pascale Allotey is the site leader of Seaco HDSS in Malaysia and the Board will soon be reviewing their application for full membership. We hope that Pascale who has served the Network through supervising PhD dissertations of INDEPTH students and serving as scientific committee member of the Network's project, INTREC, will continue to contribute to INDEPTH's work in her new capacity. We congratulate her on her appointment.

Prior to joining UNU, Prof. Allotey served as Professor of Public Health and Deputy Head of School (Research and Development) at the Jeffrey Cheah School of Medicine and Health Sciences, Monash University (Malaysia). Her previous experience includes Professor of Race, Diversity and Professional Practice, Brunel University (UK); Lecturer and Senior Research Fellow in women’s health at the University of Melbourne (Australia); and Lecturer in the tropical health program at the University of Queensland (Australia).

UNU-IIGH Director Allotey’s research has focused on health equity, health and human rights, gender and social determinants of health, forced migration and marginalisation, sexual and reproductive health, infectious diseases, and non-communicable diseases. She holds a PhD in Public Health and a MMedSci degree in Community Health from the University of Western Australia.
