IHTAS Key Activities

  • The first phase of the INDEPTH Healthy Transitions to Adulthood Study (IHTAS) will be a situation analysis of all relevant policies and programmes on adolescent health and health services within Ghana and Kenya, with a particular emphasis on the Dodowa and Kilifi areas.
  • Phase two will be the analysis of existing and new data on adolescent and young adult health collected by the two centers. It will also explore the feasibility of linking attendances by adolescents and young people at health facilities in and around the two HDSSs to the HDSS database, and the most efficient way of doing this.
  • Based on the findings from these studies, a proposal will be developed to evaluate the effectiveness of a package of adolescent health interventions in the two HDSS areas. This proposal will be submitted to potential funding agencies in late 2014 or early 2015.
